Few poems by Mahmoud Darwish💕

Image
To mark my 300th post, I'm sharing a collection of poems by Mahmoud Darwish. His powerful words offer deep insights into love and separation. Enjoy! I love you despite the nose of my tribe, my city and the chains of customs. But I'm afraid if I sell everyone, you will sell me and I'll return with disappointments. 'I felt like my homeland was occupied again.' Out of my ignorance I called you a homeland, and I forgot that homelands are taken away. Drink your coffee, embrace the silence, do not take people seriously, do not take life upon yourself, do not exaggerate your emotions, and do not please anyone against your will. Don't befriend me for a day, and leave me a month. Don't get close to me if you're going to leave. Don't say what you don't do. Be close or get away. A University degree, four books and hundreds of articles and I still make mistakes when reading. You wrote me 'good morning' and I read it as 'I love you'. Poetry an...

“Do not be hasty in praising people or blaming them, for perhaps what pleases you from a person today will displease you tomorrow, and perhaps what displeases you today, will please you tomorrow." ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd رضي الله عنه   [Al-Bayhaqī, Shuʿab Al-Īmān article 6177]

No matter how much you're loved, to feel

No matter how much you're loved,  to feel loved, you must be seen for who you really are. That's when every ounce of love given is a pound felt. ~Suhaib Rumi

Aim to be the person who goes "What were you saying?"

Image
Aim to be the person who goes "what were you saying?" when someone is interrupted. Aim to be the person who tries to genuinely understand people's point of view. Aim to be the person who smiles when people make eye contact with you. Aim to be the person who actually cares to listen to the answer when you ask people a question. Aim to be the person who waits when you see someone lagging behind the group. Aim to be the person who asks people who seem a bit down whether they want to talk about it. Aim to be the person who invites others to join the group. Aim to be the person who says compliments out loud. Aim to be the person who checks in when someone isolates themselves. Aim to be the person who celebrates other people's success. Aim to be the kind of person you'd like to meet yourself. -compassionatereminders // tumblr

Some people don't know what they have until it's...

Image
"Some people don't know what they have until it's gone." "But what about the ones who do know? The ones who never took a damn thing for granted? Who tried their hardest to hold on, yet could only look on helplessly while they lost the thing they loved the most. Isn't it so much worse for them?"

The thing about being kind these days is we...

Image
The thing about being kind these days is that we think a lot before being one. The way this life has pierced our hearts, we are losing the innocence we were born with. But we shouldn't give life back what we never wanted from it, instead we should give it something we have always wanted for ourselves. So that someone, somewhere could feel that way, the way we have always wished to. And don't we live a little through each others life, sharing joys and tears, laughing and crying together, so that it could become a little easier, less painful, somehow bearable. ~Tahseen Anam

Be the person who cares...

Be the person who cares. Be the person who makes an effort, who loves without hesitation. Be the person who makes people feel seen. There is nothing stronger than someone who continues to stay soft in a world that hasn't always been kind to them. ~Bianca Sparacino

The year of letting go...2̶0̶2̶2̶. 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯✨️

Image
The year of letting go, of understanding loss, grace of the word 'no' and also being able to say 'you are not kind'. The year of humanity/humility, when the whole world couldn't get out of bed. Everyone I've met this year, says the same thing 'you are so easy to be around', how do you do that?' the year I broke open and dug out all the rot with own hands. The year I learnt small talk and how to smile at strangers, the year I understood that I am my best when I reach out, the year of sugar, everywhere softness, sweetness. honey.  The year of being alone, and learning how much I like it, the year of hugging people I don't know, because I want to know them, the year I made peace and love, right here. I hope you learn to prioritize the people who bring you peace. The people who mirror the same length of love as you give others. The people who stand by your side - not in every moment but rather in the moments that matter the most. The people who matt...

You don't know how easy it is to make someone believe...

Image
You don't know how easy it is to make someone believe that they're bad and you don't know how hard it is to heal what you've broken inside them and how long it can take for them to believe again ..that NO, they don't destroy everything they touch and that THEY ARE actually good people.

Notice your heart. Still beating. Still fighting...

Image
"Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water.  Make the room dark. Lie down and close your eyes.  Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Still beating. Still  fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day.  And you can make it one more. You're doing just fine." - Charlotte Eriksson

I am nothing. I'm like someone who's been thrown  into the ocean at night, floating all alone. I reach  out, but no one is there. I call out, but no one  answers. I have no connection to anything. ~Haruki Murakami

Cats in Islam💖🥀

Image
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was fond of cats🐱🐾 Prophet Muhammad ﷺ being the messenger of Allah SWT and a role model for the mankind was very Compassionate person and he taught Muslims to love animals and show a compassionate behaviour towards them, Try not to disturb anyone sleeping even though if it is an animal. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ fondness for cats is conveyed in his hadith: "Affection for cats is part of faith" (Maqasid al-Hasanah, al-Sakhawi). So, loving a cat is a sign that someone is a believer. When Prophet Muhammad came across a black-and-white Abyssinian cat breastfeeding her kitten during the Uhud campaign, he changed the course of his soldiers. On his way back he adopted this cat and gave her the name "Muezza." One day, he slightly tipped his cup so that a cat passing by could drink some water. And loved his cat muezza.🖤 Verily, there is heavenly reward for every act of kindness done to a living animal.🥀 - Prophet Muhammad ﷺ The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: ...
