To cage one's own heart willingly...

I hear a kind of sorrow in that idea, someone so attuned to others that they disappear from their own care. Here’s a poem around that feeling: There lives a soul who reads the ache In trembling smiles that others fake, Who hears the grief in laughter’s sound, And kneels where silent wounds are found. A keeper of unspoken fears, A witness soft to hidden tears, They gather storms from weary skies And hold them gently, asking, “Why?” How strange, how pitiful the art, To know each fracture of a heart, Yet turn no lantern to one’s own, And make of sorrow flesh and bone. For they will calm another’s sea, Whilst drowning where none care to see; Will stitch the wounds on stranger’s skin, Yet leave their own to ache within. They understand too much, perhaps, The grief between affection’s gaps, The trembling guilt, the sharpened shame, The quiet hurt with no true name. And so they bend, and so they stay, To light the dark in others’ way; Till kindness, noble though it seems, Consumes the keeper ...

When you say Astaghfirullah. What really happens within you💖

You know how sometimes life feels heavy like there’s a quiet weight on your chest you can’t name. Maybe it’s regret, guilt, worry, or just that feeling of being distant from peace.

Now imagine something so simple, just a few words, whispered sincerely that can slowly lift that weight. That’s what Astaghfar does:

What Astaghfar/Astaghfirullah really means: I seek forgiveness from Allah.

When you say “Astaghfirullah”, you’re saying, “O Allah, I stumble and I forget, but I always find my way back to You. Forgive me and draw me near again.”

It’s not just words it’s like returning home after being lost for a while. You’re opening your heart to the One who already knows everything about you, yet still welcomes you with mercy.

Why saying It daily changes your life:

If you make Astaghfar part of your routine, it starts transforming things slowly, quietly, but surely. Spiritually: It cleans your heart. Every time you say it, imagine washing off a layer of dust that’s settled on your soul. You start feeling lighter, calmer, more in control. Emotionally: It brings peace. Sometimes you don’t even know why you’re anxious or sad but saying Astaghfirullah softens that restlessness. It’s like exhaling everything heavy inside you. Practically: Allah Himself promises that Astaghfar opens the doors of rizq (provision), ease, and opportunities. It’s like the universe begins to align in your favor when you stay close to Him. The Qur’an literally says that The Prophet Noah (Nuh) advises his people to seek Allah's forgiveness. The verses state that by seeking forgiveness, Allah will provide abundant rain, wealth, children, and gardens with rivers. Surah Nuh 71:10-12

So, if you’ve been waiting for something a change, a solution, a sign. Astaghfar is like clearing the spiritual blockage that’s been holding things back.

The hidden beauty behind it:

There’s a special kind of calm that comes from knowing you can mess up and still be forgiven instantly if you just say, “Astaghfirullah.”
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep turning back. Every single “Astaghfirullah” is you choosing not to give up on yourself. And Allah says in the Qur’an: "But Allah would not punish them while you [O Muhammad] are among them, and Allah would not punish them while they seek forgiveness."
~Surah Al-Anfal (Qur’an 8:33)
That means it’s not just about forgiveness, it’s about protection. You’re literally shielding yourself from unseen harm just by remembering Him.

The Prophet’s Example:

Our Prophet ﷺ, who was sinless, He used to say Astaghfirullah for over 70 to 100 times a day.
Think about that if someone already pure did it that often, how much more do we need it?
He knew that Astaghfar keeps your heart alive it connects you constantly to Allah, and that connection is what keeps you steady through life’s ups and downs.
What happens when you do It regularly
When you make it a daily habit even quietly, while doing chores or sitting alone something changes.
You’ll start to notice changes within you:

Your worries begin to fade,
your heart feels lighter and at peace,
and things that once felt heavy start to feel easier.
Blessings quietly unfold in ways you never expected small moments that simply fall into place by His mercy.
It’s like you’re returning to Allah with every breath, saying: ‘I can’t do this without you.’ And through the dhikr of Astaghfar, He begins to shower you with His mercy guiding, protecting, and caring for you in ways beyond your imagination.

Every morning or night, take out some time and say softly: Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah, Astaghfirullah x100 or as many times as possible
or recite: Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh (I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance).
Say it 100 times if you can, not fast, not rushed, but with meaning. Close your eyes and think:
  • I’m turning to Allah to cleanse my heart.
  • I’m releasing my guilt, my past, and my pain into His care.
  • I’m opening my day to the calm that only He can place within.

And trust me after a few days, InShaAllah you’ll feel the difference.
It’s like the air around you feels softer. Your mind quiets down. You start to feel safe, even when life is uncertain.
